Welcome!
We’ve been working on a few things as part of our Content Monetization strategy, and we’ll keep a running list of them here. Check back often.
UPDATED: August 13, 2014.
Sites
Right now, we have three sites that are part of our plan. All three are running on the Genesis Framework and the Balance Theme – Balance is “responsive” – in that it will adjust to the different mobile environments.
Email Tools
We have recently installed AWeber, which provides an email marketing and “autoresponder” tool at a relatively low cost. (We have used it before but, instead of reactivating an old account, have decided to create a new one. It’s $1 for the first month, then $19 for each month after that.)
WordPress Plugins
In addition to the normal WP Plugins that we have used for some time – ones for Analtyics and the like – today we installed a new plugin called “Genesis eNews Extended Widget.” We liked the look and the integration of it – and, once we figured out EXACTLY what we were doing, got it to work on all three sites, seamlessly with our AWeber emails, in 45 minutes. (It was the trial and error that took us so long; we tracked time on this project and the subsequent trial and error.)
In fact, we can save YOU some time if you’re installing this plugin. (It works with AWeber and some of the other email tools, but here’s specific advice for the AWeber integration.)
1. Download Brandon’s user guide.
2. Follow all of the instructions carefully. But avoid getting tripped up on PAGE 8. DON’T use the squiggly brackets >> “{” or “}” << when you are copying the link.
3. Also on PAGE 8: DON’T CAPITALIZE “name” or “email”. Both of these options appeared when we installed the plugin and followed along – so you ARE indeed setting up a form with both “name” and “email” in it.
4. Follow Brandon on Twitter. He was smart enough to build this plugin, and to grab the “@Kraft” username before a large food conglomerate.
